MINISTER
 |
Rev. Walter Braman is now
serving as our interim minister for a two year period starting
1 September 2007. This will be a transition period during which
we will be searching for a called minister.
The Unitarian Universalist Association wisely provides a special
ministerial service to churches such as ours who are in a difficult
time of change. Rev. Braman is one of such ministers trained and
experienced in facilitating communication, mediation of differences
and establishing of fresh goals. He is an Accredited Interim Minister.
Rev. Braman first served as the settled minister in two churches
for a total of 13 years. Following that, Walter served in a interim
minister capacity in six, East-coast UU churches in the last nine
years. In the later capacities he has been found to be a caring
person, an inspiring spiritual leader and having that needed quality
- a good sense of humor. Walter is married to ordained minister
Rev. Cathie Fisher Braman. They have three adult children - Amie,
Fran and Ben. Rev. Braman had the thrill of marrying Amie to son
in law Eric.
Walter enjoys reading - primarily biography, history and poetry.
He likes to cook "usually things I have no business eating"
and enjoys photographing nature.

Our recent Director of Religious
Education, Ms. Patricia Infante, has now moved to the position
of Director of Growth and Extension for the Joseph Priestley District
within the Unitarian Universalist Association. During Pat's nine
year tenure with us and, indeed. for the entire 50 plus year existence
of this UUCCH, a vital Religious Education program has been one
of our highest priorities.
We are now continuing that emphasis by hiring church member Ms
Cynthia Rivas as our Interim Director of Religious
Education, and have assembled a search committee to find a permanent
successor to Pat.
Ms Rivas has been a member of UUCCH for over 20 years
and has been a long-time religious education teacher. She graduated
at St. Joe's College with a Business Management degree, was a
corporate travel agent for many years and then got a master's
degree in education at Fairleigh Dickinson. She has two children
and is active in the Boy Scouts of America and the Cherokee High
School marching band. Cyndi will be with us as Director of Religious
Education un till the end of our current church year.
